Hairdresser

This week, our fellow fashionistas shared their opinions on a host of hot topics:

~Have you ever made a beauty blunder which you quickly regretted?  If so, you’re not alone.  25% of readers said their biggest mistake was getting a drastic haircut on a whim. While 16% said they regretted spending too much on beauty supplies. 14% said dressing to fit in with the crowd was a gaffe, while 10% said a botched dye job was a something they’d rather forget. Congrats to 19% of our fearless friends who said they have no regrets.

~All over the globe, Friday night means date night, but that doesn’t mean everyone sports the same look for a night on the town.  56% of our readers don dressed up casual looks, like dark wash jeans with flirty tops, while 11% get sexy with a slinky cocktail dress and killer heels.  But, a number of our readers switch it up, preferring to stay at home with their sweetie (4%), or head out with their fave gal pals (10%). After a long week, 14% said they skip the club and head straight for an evening on the couch in their pajamas with their old pals Ben and Jerry!

~Even the most innovative designers like to look to the past to create stunning looks for every season, but there are definitely a few fashion eras we’d like to forget.  21% of readers said grunge should never make a comeback, while 4% said hippie looks should be relegated to the history books.  Another 3% thought 1950’s sock-hop fashions were great on Happy Days, but not for present day.  Butthe biggest losers were 1980’s Power Suits by a landslide.  A whopping 49% said they don’t need those hefty shoulder pads to show everyone who is boss.

~Ever look in your closet and think everything you own looks exactly the same?  The concept of uniform dressing has allowed some of fashion’s most recognizable faces to create truly iconic styles.  16% of readers make like powerhouse designer Carolina Herrera and embrace a uniform style, while 20% reject the technique outright.  The majority of TBF readers (63%), however, tend to stick to a general look, but also like to mix it up from time to time, incorporating new trends and ideas.

~Relationships with hair dressers can be as tricky as dating.  So, are you loyal to the end or do you play the field?  Most of our readers (48%) are faithful to their stylists, even if they get a bad cut now and then, but 16% confess to having a wandering eye, and 17% said they can’t be tied down to one stylist.  Another 17% said they’re going through a dry spell and haven’t been for a cut in ages!

~We all have those mornings when we look in the mirror and just can’t imagine how we can face the day.  So, what makes our readers want to call in sick to work? Pimples, according to 36% of readers, while 32% said extra pounds made them want to hide under the covers.  14% blamed embarrassing facial hair, 2% said wrinkles were their biggest woe, and 9% were bothered by something else.  But why not make like 4% of our confident readers and embrace the beautiful person you are!
