What: You don’t have to be a ballerina to look like one.
The Word: According to the March 2008 issue of Elle magazine, tightly pulled back buns were pirouetting all over the spring runways. Hairstylist Orlando Pita, who styled the hair for Oscar de la Renta says: “The look works equally well when paired with casual street clothes or evening wear.
Our Word: Whether you’re wearing a turtleneck or spaghetti straps, the classic bun is a fun and sophisticated style. And the best part is that it’s super easy to do yourself. First, slick hair back into a tight, highly placed ponytail. Split the ponytail into two sections, then twist them together, as if you were making a rope. Circle your “roped hair around the elastic and secure with pins. Then spritz with a finishing spray like Aussie Mega Styline and Finishing Spray for $2.99, and take a bow.
