Ladies, you may know I’m a big fan of ShoeBuy.com for their budget pricing, amazing selection and super-fast order processing. But there’s another reason to love ShoeBuy, and that’s the fashion sense of their buying team. Working with ShoeBuy.com, I’ve learned that their stylists are on top of what’s now — not only in shoe trends but in apparel trends too. Because what’s a current look without the right pair of kicks to go with it?
Fall is just around the corner, and I’m looking for new styles to replace my wedges (for work) and slides (for play). I checked with in with my trusty ShoeBuy.com contacts to find out what they’re seeing on the front lines. Here are the top four shoe styles to try this fall, along with tips on how to wear them.
Ankle boots, aka booties, are back and better than ever. Wear them to work with a pencil or midi skirt and tights. Or, go casual with an oversized sweater with skinny jeans, tucked in. If you do wear loose jeans with ankle boots, try rolling them up so they sit just above the top of the boot. That keeps your jeans from puckering out at the top of your boots.

2. Casual Sneakers
Casual sneakers never go out of style, so they’re always a practical purchase. Canvas is a tried-and-true classic that’s wearable in any season, but this fall is ushering bolder fabrics too. Plan on showing a little ankle with your sneakers — think skinny pants or even a maxi skirt and denim jacket. Remember the no-show socks too!

3. Seasonal Hues and Fabrics
Fall is the time to experiment with suedes, shearling and even combinations of fabrics. Look for browns, greys, blues and deep reds. Keep your outfit neutral when wearing rich tones on your feet, and let the style of the shoe dictate what you wear with it. For example you know you can pair wedge pumps with a short dress; the same rule applies for blue suede wedge pumps.
Remember fringe? It keeps on keeping on and there are plenty of ways to enjoy this trend that aren’t over the top! The key with fringe is moderation. Go subtle and conservative with the rest of your outfit. And definitely don’t pair fringe with more fringe.
